How do I find my network?

There are three ways to find your network when you're using the search tool:

  • Log in (or register) and the system will know your network
  • Enter the group number shown on your member ID card into the group number field before you search
  • Call the customer service number on the back of your member ID card
  • For individual and family plan and small group plan members:
    • Individual and family plans: Network names generally are the same as the plan names. (Portability Blue Plus HMO plan uses the Blue Plus Primary Care network)
    • Small group plans: BlueAccess plans use the Aware network, AdvanceHealth plans use the AdvanceHealth network and High Value plans use the High Value network

What is a network?

A network is a group of doctors, clinics, hospitals and other health care providers that you can see for a lower cost. Blue Cross and Blue Plus have many different health plans and networks. Your network may be different from another member's network.

That's why you need to select your network before you search for a doctor. This way you can be sure your search results show only the doctors your plan covers. If you choose to visit doctors outside your network, you will pay more, or even all, of the cost.
